FuMG-62 Würzburg socle

Hi All,

During the construction of the Kedzierzyn-Kozle bypass, the socle for FuMG-62 Würzburg was dug.
Usually, only an inconspicuous concrete slab measuring 110 x 110 cm is visible.
Now you can see the foundation in all its glory

Its weight is almost 10 tons. During extraction, the object split into two parts.
There are no mounting bolts on the base, so the radar was never mounted.

Thank you for sharing the information on the Small Würzburg sockles.
I read about them in L.Dv. 400/8, Beiheft, but I had no idea what they looked like.

2 questions:
- Do you have exact measurements of the concrete blcks and of the positions of the 4 bolts?
The circular base of a small Würzburg has a diameter of about 95 cm, so I assume that the bolts are positioned somewhat outside of this circle. And L.Dv. 400/8 states that the overall height of a sockle is 90cm.

- Do you have information on how the Würzburg was mounted on its concrete base?
The extension ring of a Wurzburg type D5 is connected to its Lafette with 8 bolts, (see markings in red),so this system is not used on the sockle
But the ring also has 4 hoist-eyes (see arrow), maybe the base of the hoist-eyes is used to mount (and level) the Würzburg on its base. I am not sure.

Thank you for your response!

I was surprised that the mobile radars were mounted on concrete socles.
The upper part of the foundation measures 110 x 110 cm and a height of 60 cm.
Four pcs of M22 screws 15 cm long form a 77 cm square.
Unfortunately, I have not seen any drawing or photo showing how to mount the radar on this basis.

Most likely some kind of interface rings, such as those in the Flak cannons, were used

I know only one picture of a concrete-mounted Würzburg-D.
It is on the Flakleitturm in Berlin-Tiergarten,1946

I attached a picture of a Würzburg D, probably a type D5.
It is completely dug-in, so I assume it is mounted on a concrete socle.

Hi All,

Some of the foundations do not have screws, which means that the radar was never mounted on them.
