No, I had no info about a Walther research center at Hel. The Walter facilities were located in Kiel. As Walter was engaged in torpedo and submarine developements, it might be possible, that some of his developments were tested at Hela and that there was a test office as well. But I could not confirm this.

I have just found a short remark of the V80 in Hela on the 14.11.1941 (Eberhard Möller, Marine Geheimprojekte (Hellmuth Walter und seine Entwicklungen)). The normal working area was mostly the Kiel Area.@ndrew hat geschrieben:were placed Prof.Walther's secret facility for testing new kind of turbines.

Thanks for replay.
I guess that in Hela 'case' resarch could take place (info from Polish book). It could happen because of bombing raids over Germany.
Such way of moving testing sides(Tup &Schiessplatzen) were made with Heidelager/Blizna and Heidekruat/Tucheler Heide.
Also I could add Torpedowaffenplatz Gotenhafen-Hexengrund and Torpedo Veschusanshalt Oxhofte Kampe near Gotenhafen. As You see quite a lot resarchs were moved to protect projects and scientists.

-agree, Hel could be additional place for further resarchs.Just looking for any proof that Prof.Walther was warking there. The normal working area was mostly the Kiel Area.

The torpedo test facilities are still to be seen from Jasternica.
The V80 was sent from Kiel to Hela in late 1940. Experimental rides were undertaken from there in 1941 and 1942. It seems, that V80 went into storage at Hela following these trials and it was sunk by German troops in March 1945 near Hela. Take a look here: http://walter-boote.untersee-boote.de/v80.htm
