Wassermann S serialnumbers.

Beitrag von SES (†) » 05.03.2006 16:48

Hi,
Can anyone help with the ?? snr.

LINDE S 4
FICHTE S 12
KASTANIE S 5
SCHAKAL S 6
HYÄNE S 3
AUERHAHN S 1
RINGELNATTER S 7
TIGER S ?
BIBER S ?
WELS S ?
TAUSENDFLÜSSLER S ?
THEODOR S ?

Now Trenkle says 10 Was S were built, above I have listed 12 sites based on German documents!
And just to confuse the issue. Attached is a picture of a Klein Heidelberg puportedly taken at Cherbourg - Carneville Osteck. So that is one Was S tower and one L 480 more. Trenkle has the same picture and the caption says:"With the original antenna on the back" so that's at least 13 Was S and L 480 or is this K.H the modified Was S at TAUSENDFLÜSSLER?

Hi Jos,
Thank you. We have one L 480 in Denmark at Helligsø, where the Was S was never mounted. Your 2 sites could be a parallel.

Hi,
I came across an interesting diagram, which I hasten to share.

http://www.gyges.dk/Wassermann%20LDv.pdf

it explains the barracks seen on the picture.

Hi Jos,
Thank you very much. In that case the German map is in error, it is not the first and it will not be the last time. I guess you base your statements on the bunkers you have found at the locations?
Do you have plans of any of these VF bunkers?

Hi SES,

Thank you very much for sharing the W'Mann M diagram!!! Great info! is this a lonely drawing or part of an interesting serie....... ;)

In the Netherlands in the W'Mann M locations the Gerätestand and Auswertung were combined in one FA Bunker. The Notstrom was a seperate FA building. Enclosed bunkerdrawings are of the Tiger Groenplak location. Almost identical buildings can be found on other W'mann M locations in NL. Looks like these dutch brick buildings fullfilled the same task as your barracks.

Best regards, Klaas

Hi Klaas,
And thank you for sharing. Quite a few bits and pieces are coming together. If only I had drawings of the barracks, I don't but I can guide you right up to the Splitterschütz.
Yes the diagram is from a copy of a German manual, the scan I published is the most interesting, but there is one more. The rest is part numbers, diagrams for engineers and equations.
