I was a US-Armee tank soldier, stationed on "The Rock" from 1979-1982.
hagilein is right. Those concrete ramps were made for tank positions for training, in the mid-1980s. We did not have these concrete ramps when I was there. We had only earth berms for tank positions.
We called this location "Area Alpha" and we trained back there both day and night. The gate to "Area Alpha" was just at the end of the places where we parked the tanks ("tank park") and just past the ammunition bunkers (BLSA - Basic Load Storage Area). I spent many nights in "Area Alpha" on training with my M60A1 tank, watching the traffic on the road nearby with my night vision sights.
But I never heard of these WK2 Muna-Bunkers in the woods!!!!
@hagilein - I was in one of those tanks that you remember driving through the streets of Langgöns! (and also Butzbach, Muenzenberg, usw.)
