Hi,
During the offensive the OKL established a Gef.Std. in Braunfels called "Musketier", which is very close to the trunkline between Limburg and Giessen. I have found two possible locations, one is Burg Braunfels the other is a fenced area just SW of he village (please see attachment). Does anyone have further information.

Hi Michael,
yesterday I had a telcon with the head of the archive of Braunfels about this question. Fortunately the Historical association of Braunfels had a meeting that evening and he promised to pop that question. A few minutes ago he informed me, that he was told, Luftwaffe soldiers were billeted in the Schlosshotel Braunfels ( http://www.schloss-hotel-braunfels.de/ ) in winter 1944/45. Todays management of the hotel does not know anything about it.
At least one of these soldiers returned an lived there later.
He will look in the archive for documents which may turn hearsay into facts.

Hi,
I am now fairy certain that we have the right town, remaining question is if Scholls Braunfels was the Gef.Std. But considering the Luftwaffe generals affinity for castles this is distinkt possibility. Please see:
