Bunker of "Battle HQ of a local Flak Führer"

Hi,
I have no idea of what a "local Flak Führer" is, but I assume it is the commander of a Flak Abr. or Rgt. If you look at the Lagekarte, it seems as if it was located in Hamburg. Does anyone have additional info?

Hi,

local Flak-concentrations were commanded by Flak-Gruppen-Kommandos. See here for an overview: http://www.ww2.dk/ground/flak/flakgrp.html

In some of these areas these were subdivided further in Flak-Untergruppen-Kommandos, responsible for the Flak in a sector of the area.

As far as I remember correctly, there was one of these Flak command posts in Hamburg in the vicinity of todays Clausewitz-Kaserne at Manteuffelstraße.

I am not sure that the drawing shows Hamburg.
But let us go out from this point of view!

In Hamburg we had during the last years of the war three Flak-Gruppen:
- Flak-Gruppe Hamburg-Nord (Gefechtsstand Flakturm IV)
- Flak-Gruppe Hamburg-Süd (Gefechtsstand Flaktum VI) und
- Flak-Gruppe Hamburg-Ost (Gefechtsstand Rahlstedter Feldmark)

The Flak-Gruppe Hamburg-Ost had two Untergruppen (Berne and Bille) with alltogether 17 firepositions of heavy AA-guns.

The Flak-Gruppe Hamburg-Ost was the only one which had an own bunker. It was errected in the sorrounding of the today Charlottenburger Straße. After the war the bunker was domolishes by the British. Today there is only a little hill to be seen under which the domolished concrete should be.

Sorry, I do not have or know pictures or sketches of this bunker.

Perhaps it the same with SES's drawing.

In the HQ of the Luftgaukommando XI in Blankenese (today Clausewitz-Kaserne) was the bunker for the HQ . Besides this the Untergruppe Nordwest was in those buildings

The bunker was located about 500 - 700 m north-west from the v.Estorff-Kaserne (later on part of the Lettow-Vorbeck-Kaserne).
