Or something like this?

Maybe i'm missing out on this, but aren't the Groß Freya and Freya Köthen being mixed up?

Best regards, Klaas

Yes it is ;-) The Motorbuch Funkmeßverfahren page 59.

But i'm really confused:

Eric wrote "FuMG (Flum) 41 G (k3B) = Freya-Köthen K3"
SES wrote "the popular name Gross Freya"
Trenkle page 59 mentions a "Groß Freya ...in Stellung Komet"...teil antie Bumerang Anlage"

Did Komet had a Groß Freya or Freya Köhten or both???

Best regards, Klaas

Hi Klaas,
You cheated and used The Yellow Trenkle, I was using the new black one. The captions are different in the two editions and I never use the Yellow much. We have been hunting this Gross Freya ever since we read the memoirs of Maj Dahl and I was dumb enough not to check Trenkle's old work. Thanks an awful lot. Now I can even draw one. 75 Mhz equals a wave length of 4 m, the dipoles were ½ wavelength = 2 M. The spacing between the dipoles was one dipole length and the outer ones were 1/4 length from the edge of the antenna.

Hi Klaas,
This is were we cross refer Yellow and Black. It is the same picture. In the Yellow one Trenkle calls it Gross Freya in the Black a Freya Köthen K3, which in the text is FuMG(Flum) 41 G (k3B).

Hi,

I´m actually really confused about this vivid discussion... ;)

The picture that I´ve redicovered is shown of course in the "Funkmeßtrenkle" 2nd edition. There one can find a photo of this device and the venue on p. 82.

But why should this device have been a "Groß-Freya", mainly it´s smaller than the regular Freya devices. :holy:

Cheers, Eric

Hi Eric,
No it is larger, Due to the law of physics the dipoles are larger because of the lower frequency, and due to the technology this results in a larger antenna (reflector).
