Hi,
Recently there was a Me262 found on Deelen airfield which was shot down by German Flak in Elden near Arnheim end 1944. It was researched by the SGLO (Dutch Airwar Organisation)some years ago.
By interest see:

Soweit in aller Kürze.
MfG

Me 262 found in Deelen
Hi Andreas and ZFox,
I live 20 minutes away from Deelen airfield and it was known that a lot of holes were filled with everything what was lying around at that time. Some people form a local museum were always digging there and now they found something more than garbage. I inclose a picture how Deelen looked at the time of Market Garden.
It was not regular for the Luftwaffe to put airplanes in holes in the ground, but this was a special case. Secrecy is most likely. For getting rid of all those planes there was an Unternehmen called Zerlegebetrieb in Holland who did those things for getting Rohstoffe.
When you look at the pictures from Deelen you see a Werksnummer on the Me 262 and that is another problem.
How to check those numbers?
The organisation SGLO (use google)were I am a member of, did a hell of a job to register all downed airplanes (german and allied) in 40-45 in the region Holland (incl part of the see) and it is called Verliesregister.( http://www.studiegroepluchtoorlog.nl/ve ... r/zoek.php )
I took the opportunity to check date and airplane and you can see the difference.
And now we wait for the experts in this case.
bye
Rene

Hi Rene,
130 026 is the correct Werk-Nummer of this airplane. This Block ended with 130 027 Stammkennzeichen SQ+WA. Next Stammkennzeichen SQ+WB was given to Werknummer 130 163. The figures in between were not commissioned.
That is: 130 126 was a mistyping in the Namentliche Verlust-Meldung, a mistake not seldom.

Hoi ZF,
Nice to see that the numbers are correct now.
When I saw the first photo-sequence on the website their was a very clear picture of a piece of aluminium with a number on it. It was 130 0 026. Big and quite clearly.
I told some people that it didn't matched the numbers in the Verliesregister. (see my last mail)
Now that picture is gone.
I will ask the webmaster to add that picture again.
bye
