Hi
Not too long ago I promised that I would not answer a post or ask a question without checking date, time and Trenkle. But I have to learn that lesson a couple of times. The system is indeed a RV system for the Heer. Please see the attached (extract from Trenkle "Die deutschen Funknachrichtenanlagen bis 1945, Band 2 "Der Zweite Weltkrieg" ") and sorry for having wasted your time. But at least we got the pictures published and I think we all learned a little.

Hello SES,SES hat geschrieben: Many of the units participating in Weserübnung carried the suffix zbV, not because they were "special" but because the were part of a task force. Hopefully our German friends can enlighten us on this issue.

literally z.b.V. means "zur besonderen Verfügung/for special use". As you correctly stated not in the sense of "special forces" but rather meaning "out of the ordinary structures". Often used as a reserve contingent or a mixed detail given a very specific task.
Sometimes you find additional info on who is allowed to employ the unit (e.g. z.b.V. Major Schmidt).
