Great! Any further information besides the mention of Jagdschloss in "Wir Stegskopfer"?

I hoped 'located' meant found & identified ;)

Btw. SES, a year ago you were about to update the Stellungen Map for Poland with the rough positions I gave you for a few previously unknown or misplaced locations. mittl-flugmelde-leit-kp-stellung-natter-t17912.html

Farewell, Jagdschloss at Prilezy

Beitrag von paw » 14.06.2014 22:49

Bad news, fellow LN nerds: the relatively well preserved building of Jagdschloss radar near Prilezy (Funkmeßstellung 1. Ordnung Engerling, Pröles) was completely demolished, at the beginning of 2014.

The demolition was initiated by Ministry of Defense, as the owner of the building. Ironically, since 2013, the same building was proposed to became a "listed building" at the Ministry of Culture. But the buldozers were faster than bureaucrats...

To be fair, there may be some rational reason for the demolition, unknown to us (nearby airfield, perhaps). But at the same time, it could have been motivated just by getting a rid of potential burden and spending 1,5 million CZK for the demolition.

I've visited the place shortly today, there is really nothing left from Jagdschloss. I didn't check the WR foundations in the proximity of Prilezy (whether they still exist or not), there was no time + motivation left.

Well, such is life ;-(

A couple of questions regarding the Jagdschloss:

How many Jagdschloss radars were delivered and installed?
According to Hoffmann it was abt. 80, while Trenkle says 62.

A map by SES indicates only ~ 37 of them (and btw. lacks SEESTERN and most probably BRACHVOGEL). So we know about some 39 radars, while at least 23 or even up to 40 remain unknown.

Were there any of them installed in the sites in Norway and France (before D-day)?

And can we estimate what was the number of radars installed on the "small" shelter and on the regular shelter, as the one in ENGERLING? At least the first 12 examples were mounted upon a small shelter (according to the remark to the sketch available at SES's site), but how about the next?

M.
