Guten Tag
Recently i bought on Ebay diverse lot of Fotos because some are about Deutsches Nachtjagd,
some from the lot come from "Berta" in Germany .
Not me interesting especially but perhaps my friends from Losplace.de in Germany, we have one curious bunker

herzlichen Dank für die Aufnahmen! Hast Du einen Hinweis, aus welcher Region die Aufnahmen stammen? Wenn ich es richtig erkenne, sieht der Bahnhof etwas größer aus, wie ein Rangierbahnhof. Und auf dem anderen Bild scheint ein Kanal zu sein.

Erkennt jemand von Euch die Stadt oder Region?

Hi Leif,
i don't know more about the unity or regiment ...
The man who take photo was in April 43 in Dijon, he take pics from the Airfield with 7/9 Do 217 N
from the interior one Do 17...
For the others from "Berta",Hier the reverse of the pics,
note the 2 litte aerials pics have no text behind ....

You know i work with Air force historical service in Arial base, Dijon
Since ten years we searching pictures withs Nachtjagt on our base !
This is the first we can found
The place with hangars on the front was old civilian place Club house (1924 to 1939)
Behing the hangars was from the bomb school from IV/KG 55
Curious we dont see Heinkel 111 ... (perhaps inside the hangars)
Do 217 are from 5./NJG4 and perhaps coming from the 2 staffels (5./NJG4 and 6./NJG4)
Actually these place was the control tower for our military base Ba 102 .
The "civil areal" was essential target for USAAF, and it's completly destroyed in March, April and August 1944.
(3 missions!)
No chance for amerikaner, the Nachtjägers was not on base theses days
Perhaps in Tavaux (50 Kilometer by road, 8 minute by plane)

Now we need to identify the place, i think it's in Germany, perhaps the friends from the forum can read the reverse of the pics and found the exact place "Berta" ...

You are far too kind.
A WAG on Bertha. The Stellungen in the Helle Riegel had a number and a letter suffix. In the Luftwaffe phonetic alphabet B was Bertha. If the pictures are from Germany candidates would then be 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 or 12 B.

The reverse of the pics: left column pics 1-3: some words are hard to read; takes time.
2: Mit Hptm. Materna über Lerta? Serta?
Right column pics 4-7:
4: Der Leithammel gibt das Zeichen und alle blöken mit (mir wars zu blöde)
5: Oblt Engel als Chef der Väter und Vateranwärter
6: So verrückt wurde der Vatertag gefeiert
7: So etwas erlebt man bei der Nachtjagd

Hi EP,
I checked Hoffmann II/1. The name Materna does not appear, but Engel does three times:

In DOHLE,
in LORI and
in ALPSPITZE/ALBATROS
but none of these Stellungen fit into my neat little theory.
