Hi all,
I am doing some research on Luftnachrichten Regiment 52 - Stellung Goldammer.
I have seen in your database and on this forum that there is physical proof that Goldammer, or another Stellung,
was in Wortegem ( Flanders )
But, when I look at Gyges.dk and Lexikon der Wehrmacht,
I get the following information:
II Abteilung
7. Flugmelde Leit Kompanie in Grammont ( Stellung Goldammer )
Now, Grammont, or Geraardsbergen, is located about 40 minutes drive from Wortegem.
Is there a discrepancy in the database?
Where does the information about Goldammer at Grammont come from?
I am interested in knowing if there really was a radar ( or other Flugmelde ) base in Grammont, even if it was called differently.
The only physical proof is a large square concrete tower, about 10 meter high, build on top of a hill that dominates the surrounding environment. I don't have any knowledge about a bunker complex in Grammont, as there is in Wortegem. The tower itself was destructed in the 1970's, but I can send a picture if necessary.
The locals always called it "the German Tower".
Please advise.
Best wishes,
Yannick
PS: do not hesitate to answer in German, I understand it, but am not good at writing it.

Hi Yannick!
The "Gyges"-information based on this page:
http://www.ww2.dk/ground/ln/ln52.html
Unfortunately I don't know, where Michael Holm got this information.
I haven't found any information, neither in Hoffmann nor in Tessin.
Maybe the position of Grammont/Geraardsbergen is simply wrong.
Another option is, that there was the "Gerätestellung" at Wortegem and the
"Auswertung" (evaluation) at Geraardsbergen.
This option you can find at some (most?) posts of the "Helle Nachtjagdräume".
EricZ talked a few years ago to an old man, who worked at the posts of NJR 6.
He told him about the "Auswertungen". Please see here:
https://www.geschichtsspuren.de/forum/n ... t7362.html
As far as I know, a "Auswertung"-post was just a barrack-area with "less
concrete". Sometimes the main-buildung (T-Hut) was made of bricks.

Best wishes and merry christmas!
