Hi SES,

I know this Local Training Area (now closed) and I also know this bunker. In WWII there were two "Jagdfliegerhorst" (one in Pocking, the other in Kirchham) and a "Luftnachrichtenschule". I think, this bunker was used for training the soldiers.

But I didn't have other informations. Sorry.

i just sweeped over this Thread and took a look in GE....and ZOOOOM, there appeared a Panoramio-photo,which is titled "Das alte Heizhaus der ehemaligen Rottalkaserne".
So i think you have to update your Homepage.

I have the memoirs of a former Ln-Helferin who was trained in a fairly large bunker at Pocking and Bjorn seems to have similar information.
And yes large bunkers had a central heating plant and hence a chimney Please see the picture here:

and note the large prominent chimney.
